1. What is
STEC
Glass
Security film or Bulletproof laminates ?
STEC film is a special
material formed into multi plastic film layer.
With
very special material and Know How to strengthen the film
and glass to withstand extra ordinary force such as Bullet
and Explosion from penetration through the glass.

Bulletproof film is a tougher
and stronger film with special material to withstands Bullet
penetration. Level of protection is subject to glass
thickness.
2. What type
of guns and bullets the bulletproof film / laminates can
withstand?
The basic one layer of
bulletproof film with 8 ~ 10mm glass thickness can
withstands light pistol with bullet traveling speed between
300 ~ 400 m /s. With additional glass layer and film, it can
withstand higher armor or higher speed bullet
such as AK47, M60, Machine Gun, etc...

3. What are
the differences between bulletproof glass and bulletproof
film / laminates ?
Bulletproof glass is a
sandwiched of 2 pieces of glasses with PVB film or PC Sheet in between.
The sizes of the glass is quite standard or require custom
make according to order. It requires thicker glass to
withstands bullet if compare with bulletproof film.
Moreover, bulletproof glass
require skilled technical team to install, much heavier in
weight and much more expensive than bulletproof film. In
installation of bulletproof glass on existing building, it
requires heavy renovation include changes of window and door
frame to suit the bulletproof glass thickness.
Where bulletproof film, it can be installed on existing glass
without the need to change the glass or frame.

4. How to
install
STEC
glass security bulletproof film or armored proof film.
STEC
glass Bulletproof film comes
with a GLUE layer. Where user can peel off the protection
sheet and stick the film on the glass surface. Prior
cleaning of glass surface with mild soap water and clean
water is require to prevent poor adhesion.
Film need to be cut according
to glass dimension before installation. Film can be cut by
high quality and thin stationary blade.

5. How long
does it takes to dry the film / laminates after
installation?
During installation of film
on glass surface, water is use to provide flexibility during
installation. Thus water moisture and air bubble is captured
between glass surface and film.
To have it 100% effective,
the water moisture between the glass and film needs to be
totally dried off and allow the adhesive to stick hard on glass.
In normal condition or room temperature, it requires at
least 30 days for total dry up.

6. What are
the equipments required for the installation?
In installation of the film,
you would require:
* Water sprayer
* Stationary blade (Thin
type)
* Ruler
* Hard Water Squeezer to remove water
and air bubble
* Clean cotton cloth

10. What is
the duration or endurance of the film / laminates property?
3 years warranty on film
property. However, the film will last as long as the glass
last, Thus, it is almost eternity.

11. Do I
still need additional glass protection beside security film
/ laminates on glass?
STEC
glass film is
tough enough to withstand any great impact which may
penetrate the glass. Thus, with STECglass security film, you
do not need other glass protection material.

12. Can I
cut the film to specific design like flower for decoration
on glass and yet obtain the security level?
No...security and bulletproof
film need to cover the whole glass without any punctual on
its combination strength.

13. Do we
need to install the film / laminates right inside the frame
of window or door?
No....security and
bulletproof film only need to install on the visible surface
of glass, Does not need to dismantle the frame to install
the film. But the glasses require frame to hold the glass,
security and bulletproof will be weaken if install on
glasses without frame. For explosion proof level,
installation is require to the edge of the glass covered by
the frame. Which means film should go inside the frame.

14. What
should I do if I need to increase glass and film
/ laminates
layer for heavy armor
protection.?
You just need to use Glass
Sealant to add additional glass on the
existing glass. Seal the additional glass by the edge, all
round and not the whole glass surface.

15. What are
the differences between STECglass Armor proof film compare with others in market?
Not
all security films can be armored proof, bulletproof
or explosion proof. It requires special Adhesive,
Process and Know How in order to achieve high level protection
against heavy weapons and explosive.

for the to withstand bullet, the minimum glass thickness is

19. If we
require to dismantle the film / laminates from the glass,
would it leave mark or odor on glass?
A slight glue stain will be
on the glass, you can clean it with soap water and flat
stationary blade. If too hard, use alcohol. No
odor on glass.

20. After
peel off or delaminated, can I re-use the film / laminates
again on other glass surface?
No, after dismantle or peel
off, the glue layer will be damaged and cannot be used
again. During peel off, the property of the film will be
damaged as well.

21. Why
immediately after installation, the film / laminates still
can be peeled off easily and like not sticking at all?
Yes, because there is still
water moisture in between the glass and film. It requires at
least 30 days in total cure at room temperature.

22. Is there
anyway to shorten the drying period and allow it to stick
well on glass?
Yes, expose the glass to Sun
with good ventilation after installation. This will shorten
the cure by 5 ~ 7 days. Do not use any hair dryer or heat
generating equipments to dry off the surface, this will
damage the film property.

28. How
many cars or vehicles could install with One Roll of film?
As our standard roll
dimension is 1525mm x 30 meter, please divide it to the
total glass dimension on the vehicle
with an allowance of 10 ~ 15%
for wastages at corner or shape forming. In average for 4
windows with single layer, it is about 20 cars.

30.
How many color does STEChas?
Our standard films are clear,
no color is available due to lack of demand in color.
However, special order of minimum 200 rolls can be arranged, such as Gray,
Charcoal, Black, etc.

Can we apply another solar film on top of STEC film?
and how?
Yes you can install other color solar
film on top of STEC glass film after 3 days. If immediate
installation is require, use less water.

32. Is the type of soap
water for glass cleaning and film attachment important to be
specified?
Yes. Do not use other
soap water other than a glass cleaner. Some soap water has
conditional build in. A pure glass cleaner is the best.
Glass cleaner is to clean the glass.
For attaching the film, mix another bottle of water with
glass cleaner. (10ml of detergent for 600ml water as
slip solution). Please use
purified water.

33. When I apply the
second layer of film on top of first layer, the film seems
to create bubbles. Why?
After install the
first layer of film, please use Spirit (Mild Alcohol) with
tissue paper to clean the 1st layer film surface in order to
remove
grease or oil which may be
contaminated during the production of the film. Follow up by
cleaning with glass cleaner.

34. After
applying the film, some water mark can be seen. How to
remove it?
Water mark can appear after
installation. However, it will disappear by itself
automatically by time. Approximately 3 ~ 4 weeks.
Expose the glass to direct sun would
help the water mark to dry off in shorter time.

35. If
some air bubble occur after few days. How to remove it?
Bubble should not occur
during installation. If it happens after few days, it will
disappear by time after the glass is exposed to sun light.
Usually is after 30 days.
